Updated Android Auto: Gets better UI and split-screen interface

Google also announced better support integration with the new update.

Google will soon roll out a new update to its Android Auto connectivity feature, focused on vehicle touchscreens.

According to reports, the new update will now allow Android Auto to conform to the size and shape of any vehicle’s infotainment screen. Along with improved integration, Android Auto will also get a refreshed design, making it more in line with the latest Android software seen on smartphones. This will include updates to the font, shapes, and general user interface, making it similar to a smartphone running stock Android software.

Along with the new design and UI updates, Google will also introduce a new split-screen interface for this version of Android Auto. The update will offer 3-way separation, allowing navigation, media and communication to work simultaneously. The software will also allow users to expand any of these tiles if they prefer to focus on one of the three apps.

Google also announced better support integration with the new update. The car will now proactively offer responses, share arrival times with whoever you choose, and even recommend music options. The new Android Auto update is expected to roll out “in the coming months”.
