Interface Security Systemsa leading managed service provider providing enterprise security, managed network, UCaaS and business intelligence solutions to distributed enterprises, today announced that Cooking Salad Salata, a popular, fast-casual, built-to-order salad kitchen, chose Interface’s advanced video analytics solution to gain critical operational insights by leveraging an upgraded security camera system installed by Interface . Additionally, Salata will deploy Interface’s Restaurant-Technology-in-a-Box to upgrade its network and voice connectivity.
Salata wanted to completely overhaul its network and voice solutions to keep up with changing customer preferences driven by the pandemic. Additionally, Salata needed insights into restaurant operations to create a superior customer experience and optimize sales. “The rapid increase in network traffic, driven by customer preference for online ordering, has forced us to scale network capacity. We also wanted to have the information needed to provide a seamless customer experience for our restaurant customers,” says Pete Kaufmann, Senior Director of IT at Salata.
The interface upgraded the old security cameras in Salata to prepare the ground for the implementation of a video analysis solution that offers real-time information on customer movements in restaurants, customer waiting times, restaurant layout bottlenecks, staffing deficiencies, compliance issues, to name a few. In addition to deploying the video analytics solution, Interface integrated the cameras with Salata’s point-of-sale (PoS) solution to allow Salata easy access to camera recordings associated with PoS transactions.
“Interface has opened the doors to the immense potential of exploiting video analytics information at Salata,” says Kaufmann.
To support the rapid growth of online ordering, Interface upgraded the Salata restaurant network with its all-in-one restaurant technology that standardized network infrastructure and simplified ongoing maintenance. The solution includes a tamper-proof, PCI-compliant network enclosure with integrated router, firewall, Wi-Fi access points, wireless WAN failover and SD-WAN.
To cope with increasing call volumes at Salata restaurants, Interface implemented a cloud-based VoIP solution designed to handle large call volumes at each location. The voice solution comes with features to manage customer orders for delivery or pickup and eliminate unnecessary waiting times on the phone. Employees no longer have to worry about missed calls and can focus on serving customers in the restaurant.
“We chose to work with Interface to help us unlock the insights needed to grow our business. We now know that every time we open a new restaurant, Interface will be there to set up the network, negotiate with local ISPs, connect cameras to our POS system, and keep it all running on one predictable monthly bill. . This is a game-changer for Salata,” says Kaufmann.
