Pressed, a cold-pressed juice and plant-based candy brand, has deployed Interface Systems’ managed services to more than 100 stores nationwide, resulting in a 50% reduction in fixed costs in all stores after consolidating several departments.
Pressed chose to implement Interface’s suite of managed IT services to improve network reliability, increase security and create a system to collect multi-dimensional store performance data to improve the customer experience.
Transforming the company’s IT infrastructure
Pressed had a plethora of network providers and IT operations were complex due to non-standard network hardware and maintenance, impacting sales and employee productivity in stores. Interface consolidated busy IT operations and deployed comprehensive network and voice solutions across all sites. The solution included a tamper-proof, PCI-compliant network cabinet with integrated router, firewall, Wi-Fi access points, wireless WAN failover, SD-WAN and VoIP router. The solution has greatly simplified network operations as all Pressed stores now have the same network hardware, which is fully monitored and maintained remotely by Interface.
Simplified PCI compliance
Pressed was also looking for a way to strengthen its security and reduce the effort required to stay compliant with regulatory standards such as Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS).
“Before Interface, staying PCI compliant was difficult because we had too many systems and inconsistent security practices,” said Blaine LaBron, vice president of digital commerce and technology at Pressed. “With Interface, our data security posture is significantly better and we are fully PCI compliant.”
Interface installed a cloud-based video management system (VMS), video analytics and video-verified alarms in Pressed stores.
The VMS allows store managers and company staff to keep an eye on stores from their mobile device. They can also easily review, search for video recordings and securely share them with colleagues or law enforcement for incident investigations.
The interface upgraded legacy alarm systems and supported continuous alarm monitoring for all busy sites. The upgrade included video verification of alarm events enabled by integrating security cameras with intrusion detection devices to reduce false alarm penalties. Whenever an alarm goes off outside of business hours, Interface monitoring centers can verify its validity and dispatch authorities if necessary.
Video analytics to improve in-store operations
Leveraging data from security cameras, Interface implemented a video analytics solution designed to gather critical information about store operations, such as customer traffic, order and service times, ordering requirements in scene, the effectiveness of online marketing campaigns in driving customer traffic and conversion rates.
“Pressed is a growing company; to scale more than 40 stores per year, we needed a partner who could facilitate our growth,” said LaBron. “By bundling managed services across all facets of store operations, Interface gives us predictable monthly costs and service levels. Most importantly, Interface has helped us uncover valuable business insights to improve our operations and delight our customers.
