Australian company ARX has just launched the USB Ultra I/O VSR Broadcast, a two-channel digital/analog professional audio interface for 24-bit USB playback and recording. USB Ultra I/O VSR streaming eliminates the need to use existing sound card outputs in systems or live production.
Designed to interface USB-equipped computers with the balanced inputs and outputs of professional audio systems, the USB Ultra I/O VSR Broadcast’s balanced inputs and outputs provide the isolation needed to eliminate ground loops and the like. spurious interaction noise and distortion.
The USB Ultra I/O VSR Broadcast provides analog-style recording headroom with 0dB analog input converted to -18dB and digital FS providing analog-style headroom when recording in the digital domain. The -18dB digital signal returns to the 0dB analog output, allowing both analog and digital to be used. In addition to the standard selectable sample rate of 44.1 KHz, the USB Ultra I/O VSR streaming also offers 48 KHz, 88.2 KHz, 96 KHz and 192 KHz.
As part of the ARX Audibox range, the USB Ultra I/O VSR Broadcast is “plug and play”, installing as a fully compatible generic USB audio device and requiring no special driver program installation on Windows 10 or Mac OSX. The front panel features a standard USB Type B connector, along with a ground lift switch and status LEDs indicating the selected or available sample rate. The rear panel features left and right transformer balanced Amphenol XLR analog input and output connectors that connect to all standard balanced analog inputs and outputs.
