Abu Dhabi DoE Participates in the 8th Edition of Education and MEYC Interface Exhibition 2022

Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE) is participating in the 8th Edition of the Education Interface Expo and Middle East Youth Conference 2022 with the aim of showcasing the integration of the education and energy sectors. The DoE believes in the role of education in building a sustainable future and empowering youth in line with the UAE’s vision to build a globally competitive knowledge-based economy and support the innovation and creativity to develop an effective model of sustainable development.

The event is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and is held under the theme “50 Years of Education Empowerment”.

His Excellency Engineer Awaidha Murshed Al Magar, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy, gave a keynote speech at the opening of the exhibition and stressed the importance of the event to focus on education in building human resources and promoting innovation. This would help bring about positive changes in the country’s future and support its efforts towards overall sustainable development over the next 50 years. He underlined the importance of the energy transition to strengthen the country’s efforts to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.

His Excellency said: “Education and knowledge development are priorities for our wise leadership. The UAE sees them as the pillars of human development that will help build a future on the solid foundations of science. The expo’s DoE pavilion showcases its various efforts to promote energy efficiency while encouraging water and electricity conservation. The DoE presents interactive educational activities aimed at raising awareness of the importance of energy. It also emphasizes the need to change consumption behaviors to preserve natural resources from waste, mobilize environmental conservation and mitigate climate change.

His Excellency also referred to the partnership between the DoE and the Department of Education and Knowledge Abu Dhabi, and the Ministry of Education, to review the primary education curriculum and enhance it with materials on energy, environment and sustainability. The program will also raise awareness about the rationalization of energy consumption. It will be updated with additional material to include the UAE values ​​of outstanding leadership, positive citizenship and integrated faith.
